The Staff Encouragement Team was formed in December 2004 in order to surround Walnut Ridge Baptist Church Staff and their families with love, compassion, and prayer in an effort to encourage, uplift, and support their various ministries.
At this site, you will find suggestions on how you can encourage your staff, important dates such as birthdays/anniversaries, direct email contacts to staff, links to electronic greeting card sites, Deacon Staff Assignments, and information about Clergy Appreciation Day/Month.
Staff Encouragement will also provide "Spotlight on Staff", which will feature various information about staff members on a rotating basis. Look for it here on this home page.
Staff Encouragement welcomes those of you who have a heart for encouragement and would like to serve on this team. The group meets on a very infrequent basis and conducts a great deal of it's work by phone and/or internet. If you have a passion for uplifting our staff please contact us as we would welcome your service.
Senior Pastor
Randy Weeaks
Randy and Doris Weeaks are the only pastor and first lady Walnut Ridge Baptist has ever known. Throughout it's existence, the church has relied on Randy for leadership, guidance, and the direction that only God could have given this dynamic young preacher. Doris has been an integral part of that mission each and every step of the way.
Anyone who has been around Pastor Weeaks will tell you the one thing they can't help but pick up is his love for the Lord and his passion for winning others over for Christ. He is also not afraid to step out and take a stand based on what he believes God's will is for his own life and the life of our church.
Walnut Ridge started out as a church of 35 members and has now grown to over 2,600. Additionally, in each of the churches years of existence, except one, they have baptized over 100 people annually; a phenomenal testament to what God can accomplish. Walnut Ridge was located for most of its existence on eleven and a half acres in the heart of Walnut Creek in Mansfield, Texas. Over the past 15 years the church enjoyed one building project after another but simply ran out of room to expand at their original location. The church voted to purchase additional property at the corner of State Highway 360 and Broad to relocate their entire campus.
In the fall of 2007, Pastor
Weeaks and the entire congregation relocated to the new property and began
operations. As Pastor Randy will tell you this entire relocation was a "God
Thing" and is truly a testament to what we can do when we only believe in
the power of the Holy Spirit.
